The Madison County Board of Supervisors will be discussing a plan to sell the Criglersville School property to a developer who was turned down by the board in January 2023 but who sued the County to force the sale. In October, the county lost a motion to have the case dismissed and is now being pressured by the developer to sell, against the best interest and will of the community, to curtail future legal exposure. This untenable situation appears to be the result of administrative and legal failures in the county's review, signing and negotiation of the developer's contract. The updated community letter of opposition can be found and has been submitted to the BOS.
